Top 5 Easy Items to Check Before 2023-24 Starts

8/14/2023

School is about to start and we would like to share a checklist to help you prepare for the first day of school.

If you are still in the midst of the yearly rollover process, then you can rely on the following resources:

  1. Activate the Academic Year

Only active academic years allow teachers to enter gradebook data and parents/students to track their progress. Close previous years to archive data, and make the current year active.

  1. Assign Cycle Days

This step is for schools that use the Scheduling module in SchoolInsight. Inform the system if the same or different schedule takes place every day of the year.

  1. Enter Grading Period Dates

Add the start and end dates for each quarter, term, or fall and spring grading period. This affects attendance and GPA calculations.

  1. Activate First Grading Period

Just like academic years, closed grading periods do not allow users to change data. For this reason, you want to mark the first grading period active and close the rest.

  1. Copy Report Cards

Report cards are not due until a few weeks from now, but many state reports depend on them.

We wish you a happy new academic year!
