DESE SLDS Second Update

9/1/2023

Earlier today the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) released a memo announcing the Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) Pilot Program. The pilot is to test the new SLDS before it eventually replaces the existing MOSIS system. You can find the memo here

As we mentioned in our April announcement, we’ve been aware of these changes for some time. We continue to work directly with DESE and their vendor Double Line, Inc as they roll out the new system. We are fully committed to participating in the pilot and doing whatever is necessary to continue to support our customers in Missouri.

If you are interested in participating in the pilot, please do the following before September 15, 2023:

  1. Complete the survey here

  2. As requested by DESE, please contact coredata-mosis@dese.mo.gov or call 573-522-3207

While participating in the pilot is not currently required for LEAs, those that do participate will help shape the solution delivered by Common Goal Systems and DESE. If you spend time working on state reports, and feel you could make the process easier for yourself and others, this is a great opportunity.

As we get closer to the SLDS rollout, we’ll release knowledge base articles and hold webinars and training to walk all customers through the new workflows. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Common Goal Systems has a long history of building solutions that make it easy to meet state reporting requirements. We look forward to the opportunity to do it again with this new generation of tools in Missouri.
